TERMS & CONDITIONS OF CHARTER
- BOOKING & PAYMENT TERMS
1.1 Provisional Holds: Booking requests submitted via the website remain provisional until confirmed by management and the required deposit is paid.
1.2 Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required within 7 days of invoice issuance to secure charter dates.
1.3 Final Balance: The remaining charter balance must be settled in full at least 30 days prior to the embarkation date. - DRY CHARTER & EXCLUSIONS
2.1 Charter Rates: Standard charter rates cover the hire of The Abangane vessel, crew services (Captain, Chef, Deckhand), and vessel facilities as advertised.
2.2 Exclusions: Unless explicitly agreed in writing, charter rates exclude:- Fuel for main engines, generators, and tender craft (metered and settled upon check-out).
- Food, beverages, ice, and personal provisioning.
- Zimbabwe National Parks entry, conservation, and fishing fees.
- Personal travel/medical insurance.
- FUEL CONSUMPTION & TENDER BOATS
3.1 Metering: Main engine, generator, and tender boat fuel tanks will be dipped/measured prior to departure and upon return to Pama Harbour.
3.2 Settlement: All consumed fuel and oil top-ups must be settled in USD prior to final disembarkation. - CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING
4.1 Cancellation by Guest:- Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to departure: Deposit retained, or credited toward rescheduled dates subject to availability.
- Cancellations within 30 days of departure: 100% of charter fees are forfeited unless dates are re-booked by another party.
4.2 Cancellation by Operator: Fish Eagle Safaris Pvt Ltd reserves the right to cancel or re-route charters due to extreme weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen mechanical events. In such cases, full refunds or alternative dates will be offered.
- PASSENGER RESPONSIBILITIES & SAFETY
5.1 Boarding & Luggage: Guests are responsible for arriving at Pama Harbour on time.
5.2 Safety Briefing: All guests must attend a mandatory safety briefing by the Captain prior to departure.
5.3 Water Safety: Life jackets are provided aboard. Guests swim or engage in water sports at their own risk. Night swimming in Lake Kariba is strictly prohibited due to wildlife hazards. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
5.4 Indemnity: Guests chartering The Abangane acknowledge that wildlife viewing and lake activities carry inherent risks. Fish Eagle Safaris Pvt Ltd accepts no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings during the charter. - PASSENGER CONDUCT & ALCOHOL POLICY
6.1 Captain’s Authority: The Captain retains absolute authority regarding the safety and operation of the vessel, crew, and passengers at all times. All guests must adhere to instructions given by the Captain and crew.
6.2 Excessive Intoxication & Disorderly Conduct: Guests are expected to consume alcohol responsibly. Excessive intoxication, aggressive behavior, or actions that compromise the safety of the vessel, crew, or other passengers will not be tolerated.
6.3 Right to Refuse / Terminate: The Captain reserves the right to deny embarkation or terminate the charter early, returning the vessel to Pama Harbour or anchoring safely—if any guest’s conduct poses a threat to safety or damage to property. In such events, no refunds will be issued, and the charterer will be held liable for any damages or additional expenses incurred.
6.4 Damage to Vessel: The primary charterer is financially responsible for any loss or damage caused to the houseboat, tender craft, or onboard amenities due to negligence, willful misconduct, or excessive intoxication by anyone in their party.
