- The Route: N1 North from Cape Town through Beaufort West, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, and Pretoria to the Beitbridge Border Post. From Beitbridge, follow the A1 through Masvingo and Harare, then take the A1 northwest toward Chirundu before taking the Makuti turn-off directly into Kariba Town and down to Pama Harbour.

- Day 1: Cape Town to Johannesburg / Pretoria (~1,400 km).
- Day 2: Johannesburg to Harare (~850 km via Beitbridge).
- Day 3: Harare to Kariba Town (~360 km, approx. 4–4.5 hours).
- Option 2 (Via Botswana / Groblersbridge):
- Route: Take the N14/N1 through Botswana (entering via Groblersbridge / Martin’s Drift), travelling up toward Francistown and crossing into Zimbabwe at Plumtree, then continuing via Bulawayo and Harare/Chinhoyi down to Kariba.
